Welcome to the Sleep Division of the Massachusetts General Hospital. We are an inter-disciplinary group of physicians offering evaluation and treatment for all aspects of sleep disorders.  Our mission is to provide the highest standard of clinical care, to increase knowledge about sleep disorders through clinical research, and to educate patients and providers alike in all aspects of sleep medicine.

The goal of the Division of Sleep Medicine consists of a four part mission, each part unique and equally important to the advancement of care in the emerging field of sleep medicine..

Our approach to treating sleep disorders encompasses both clinical work and research. As a leading teaching hospital, we have the following goals:

  • To clinically treat every patient with the considerable resources at our disposal
  • To train physicians who eventually will be caring for their own patients with sleep disorders
  • To research new techniques and devices that could help diagnose and treat sleep disorders
  • To educate patients and  the general public on common misconceptions about sleep
