Congratulations to Dr Bianchi for his 3-part lecture tour of Seoul, speaking to neurologists and sleep specialists on home sleep technologies, Bayesian methods, and practical solutions for insomnia and sleep apnea patients.
Dr. John WInkelman presented his talk titled: "Transcutaneous Electrical Stimulation for Restless Legs Syndrome" at the SLEEP conference in Denver this month. He also co-authored a poster titled: "Nocturnal leg cramps: prevalence and associations with demographics, sleep disturbance, medical comorbidity, and cardiometabolic risk factors."
Dr Bianchi presents three completed studies, featuring his research staff Kathryn Russo and Balaji Goparaju, and senior thesis mentee, Austin Saline, at the Sleep 2016 conference in Denver CO:
1. Apnea Burden: A Decision Analysis Framework for Extending Coverage to PAP-users not Meeting Standard Compliance Criteria 2. Consumer Sleep Monitor-Based Feedback for Insomnia: Randomized X-Over Pilot Study 3. Sleep Fragmentation Does Not Explain Misperception of Latency or Total Sleep Time Dr. Josna Adusumilli, a neurologist at the MGH Sleep center was recently quoted in a STAT News article titled: "Need a good night's rest? Dr. Bianchi has received a grant from the American Sleep Foundation to study new insurance restrictions on polysomnography, which includes a nationwide investigation of practice patterns and using this information to perform cost-benefit modeling. Congratulations!
